Everything You Need for a Summer Tea Party - Dairy Free
From tea sandwiches to scones to clotted cream - it’s all dairy or lactose free
Here’s something we don’t do very often: slow down, take a little time for ourselves, and prepare food with extra care and creativity. Summer just seems like the perfect time to set aside an afternoon for friends and serve tea with a few homemade finger foods and sweets.
Tea parties also make such great themes for bridal or baby showers. We had a great time throwing a tea party birthday for Rebel when she was a child. The girls sat around the dining room table sipping out of real teacups and had such fun.
To host a tea party you don’t have to be a pro in the kitchen. Tea sandwiches are remarkably simple to make. Just a little trimming the crusts and garnishing makes everything extra special. Add a few strawberries, tiny cookies, or slices of Bundt cake. Or serve scones with clotted cream and jam.
We’ve gathered a list of simple recipes to put together your own kind of summer afternoon tea party, with either a few pastries and fruit or high tea with individual frittatas, a side salad, scones and sweets.
All our recipes are dairy free or lactose free (with notes for full dairy options). We also have a new favorite gluten free scone based on a snickerdoodle cookie.
The tea sandwiches include a variety of flavors:
